Early Childhood Director's Credentials (Available Online)

The Early Childhood Director’s Credential is designed for individuals who are primarily responsible for the daily operation of a child care center or preschool. To be admitted, a student will need to have already obtained a Bachelor of Science (or advanced degree) in Family and Consumer Sciences (Child Development or Birth through Pre-K), or a regent bachelor's degree with an area of emphasis in Child Development or Early Childhood. 
The following online courses must be taken:
CDFS 420 - The Art of Leadership and Professionalism in Child Care (3 hr.)
CDFS 421 - Developing and Administering a Child Care Center (3 hr.)
CDFS 422 - Business of Child Care (3 hr.)
CDFS 423 - External Funding for Preschool Programs (1 hr.)

Total: 10 hours

 WVU Child Development majors can earn the Director's Credential while they are completing their undergraduate degree.
